A Reader Enters The Conversation

I offer you this comment -- on the post for July 8 --  from a faithful follower of Jesus.

"I see, in Simon, a man who upon witnessing this miracle, saw it as proof Jesus truly was who He claimed to be. As soon as Simon realized this, he vocalized his feeling of unworthiness to be selected to follow the true Messiah. I don't think Simon was asking Jesus to physically leave his presence - rather it was his reactionary way of letting Jesus know that he couldn't possibly fill the shoes of a disciple.

As Fr Martin has presented it, I see this story as a lesson for all of us - when we doubt that we have been called by Jesus to follow Him and do ministry in His name. After all, as Fr Martin says to end this chapter, "Just look at all those fish!"

Great comment!

I wonder if we, in todays world, ever have those Epiphany moments?  Times when we are in such extraordinary awe that we fall to the ground, so to speak, in breath taking amazement?

I believe the answer is yes!

Those moments still occur today.

Thanks for entering the conversation.
