One of the key guiding points of the entire Bible are the Ten Commandment found in both in Exodus 20 and in Deuteronomy 5. They were, and are, the basic rules of behavior.
They have also lead to many conflicting opinions, and much confusion, through the years.
So when Jesus was asked the questions: "Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?" (Matt. 22:34-40; Mk. 12:28-34 and Lk. 10:25-28).
Jesus eliminated a whole lot of the confusion!
First, love God completely!
Second, love your neighbor as you love yourself!
“…On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
Sound so simple doesn’t it?
Apparently it was not so simple!
We will attempt to examine the Ten Word that have cause major confusion in the following days.
In the mean time, keep it simple!
34 When the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together, 35 and one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. 36 "Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?" 37 He said to him, " "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' 38 This is the greatest and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”(Mt.22)
