Heaven is of great curiosity among many believers. It is illusive and mysterious just like God.
Impossible to describe.
Yet in the Lord’s Prayer we pray, often without really thinking, “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
I want to be able to imagine how that is. How it is to live in heaven where all the people, who once lived on earth, are radically changed?
How is it that all of those earthly beings now do God’s will? All together, living as God designed them to live?
It is a fascinating wonder, isn’t it?
I often sat with those who were dying, each one of them were right there, lying in the hospital bed — or in their own bed at home. They look the same as they always have. With the very same character they always have been.
Then they are no more — no breath in them. If you didn’t know better you would think they are sleeping.
Some of those people died peacefully — ready to take God’s hand. Others are wrest-less and struggling to stay alive.
Each one had lived and moved, spoke and acted with the mentality of any other person. With all the flaws and temptations that go along with being human.
So now they are in heaven.
How do those very imperfect being just become perfect? That is living with the care and love for each other God created them to live.
I would truly like to hear your thoughts.
